Teacher Insurance

Kundalini Yoga teachers work in many different settings: studios, private homes, community spaces, workplaces, online platforms, retreats, and workshops. Professional liability insurance supports the practical side of teaching in those environments and can be an important part of a teacher’s professional foundation. It does not replace training, ethical conduct, or clear communication with students — it works alongside those things.

IKYTA does not provide insurance directly. Coverage, eligibility, exclusions, and policy terms are determined by beYogi. Teachers should review the full policy details before purchasing.

What the Policy Covers

beYogi policies are underwritten by Ascot Specialty Insurance Company and include two types of coverage in one flat-rate plan.

Professional Liability

Covers claims related to your professional services as a yoga teacher — including allegations of negligence, improper instruction, or harm caused during a session.

  • Per occurrence: $2,000,000
  • Annual aggregate: $3,000,000

Commercial General Liability

Covers bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, and advertising injury claims connected to your teaching activities.

  • Per occurrence: $2,000,000
  • Personal and advertising injury: $2,000,000
  • General aggregate: $3,000,000

Additional Coverage Included

  • Identity theft protection: $25,000
  • 500+ yoga, wellness, and fitness modalities covered at no extra cost — including Kundalini, meditation, sound healing, breathwork, and more
  • Livestreaming and pre-recorded classes covered
  • Occurrence form coverage — claims are covered based on when the incident occurred, not when the policy is active

Please note: rental damage and stolen equipment coverage are no longer included in current beYogi policies. Review the full policy details on beYogi before purchasing to confirm what is and is not covered.

Your certificate of insurance is issued instantly upon checkout.

Who This Insurance Is For

This program is designed for certified Kundalini yoga teachers who are active IKYTA members and based in the United States.

Coverage follows you wherever you teach: in a studio, outdoors, in private sessions, online, or at events and retreats. Studios, retreat centers, companies, event organizers, and community spaces may also request proof of insurance before allowing a teacher to offer classes — having a current policy makes that process straightforward.

A note for students, studios, and organizations

This individual policy covers the teacher — not the studio or organization they teach for, and not their students. Studios and organizations typically carry their own general liability policies that apply to their facilities and events. If you are a studio owner or organization coordinator looking for coverage options, contact beYogi directly to discuss what applies to your situation.

If you are a student of Kundalini yoga, a separate student policy is available through beYogi at $60/year.
