Kundalini Yoga for Body, Mind and Spirit

This series is open to anyone from beginner to intermediate. Kundalini yoga is described as the yoga of awareness with a strong focus on mediation and connecting to your inner wisdom and strength.

In this five-week series, we will focus on clearing energetic blocks from the body and mind so you can feel renewed and rejuvenated, allowing the beauty of your true spirit to shine brightly.

Our classes begin with breath-work, move into the yoga and end with a meditation.

Taught by Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Art Therapist and Somatic Healer, Charmaine Husum.

Week 1: Body Adjustment to Elevate the Spirit
During one’s life many movements occur in the body simultaneously influencing the action of the muscles. Certain muscles are stronger and hold the skeleton in a different way than the other muscles. This can lead to physical problems. Life becomes imbalanced and irritation sets in. The whole body structure is responsible for one’s elevation, for one’s “being-ness.” A car has its gas, it has transmission, and it starts. If one part is missing, or if just a little air does not get to the gas, it dies. It is the same with the body. It is by strengthening, supporting and balancing our body that we may elevate our spirit. In this Kriya set, we will be working to stretch and move the body in ways to prepare us for deep mediation. Elevate your spirit by adjusting your body.

Week 2: Kriya to make you Enchantingly Beautiful
The purpose of this set is to honour the beauty within that radiates from you. Increasing your beauty physically and mentally, making you enchantingly beautiful. Many of us have lost contact with the essence of beauty, which partly comes from good physical condition. Yet it is the radiance of soul that shines through the physical appearance and beyond that truly makes one beautiful. This Kriya taps into the ever-flowing abundance of spirit we all have within to let beauty shine from you brightly. By working the physical body you will be elevated to a level of consciousness where you can appreciate the new inflow of energy. It will make you want to meditate, going within to fall in love with who you really are.

Week 3: Removing Body Blocks
This Kriya is a work out for the entire body and will help eliminate physical, emotional and energetic blocks leaving you feeling cleared and cleaned from the inside out. In this set we will be working the body with more vigorous movements, allowing energy and blood to flow. This in turn will allow you to deepen your mediation in a way that supports vitality and balance.

Week 4: Purifying the Self
This Kriya energizes you and helps purify the mind and body. In this set we will be working to activate the Kundalini energy stored at the base of the spine, raising that through the chakras to expand your aura and elevate your spirit. When this powerful Kundalini energy is invoked, a feeling of bliss, balance and acceptance takes over the body and invites peace and love into everything you do. Followed by a powerful mediation, these exercises can be used anytime you want to connect to source energy.

Week 5: Kriya for Metabolism and Relaxation
Join us as we work to activate our Metabolism by moving the body briskly followed by relaxing the body fully. By moving rapidly from one state to another we train the body to handle similar states brought on by stress with more ease and grace in our lives.
