As a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, I commit to:
- Comply with the law. Respect all local, national, and international laws applicable in the places where I teach.
- Teach within my scope. Teach only Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®, without combining other practices within a kriya, and without diagnosing or treating physical or mental health conditions.
- Do no harm. Always act with the wellbeing of my students in mind, avoiding any action or omission that could cause them physical, emotional, or psychological harm.
- Respect the student-teacher relationship. Acknowledge the inherent power imbalance in this relationship and never use it for personal gain, whether financial, emotional, romantic, or sexual.
- Do not harass or retaliate. Maintain yoga environments free from any form of harassment — verbal, physical, or online — and never retaliate against those who report inappropriate conduct.
- Do not engage in sexual misconduct. Not participate in any non-consensual, suggestive, or inappropriate sexual behavior with students, colleagues, or any other person, regardless of local cultural or legal norms.
- Actively include all individuals. Not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, origin, physical or mental ability, socioeconomic status, or any other ground, and make an active effort to create inclusive spaces.
- Communicate with honesty and integrity. Not misrepresent my credentials, not plagiarize materials, not make exaggerated claims about the effects of yoga, and maintain appropriate confidentiality with my students.
- Maintain my professional responsibilities. Honor my agreements with students, organizations, and KRI, cooperate with any ethical investigation process, and report conduct that may represent a violation of this code.
By accepting these terms, I confirm that I have read and understand the KRI Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct and all its associated policies, and that I commit to upholding them in my practice as a Kundalini Yoga teacher.
