
Deborah Prema Ford (Prema Devinderjeet Kaur) is a KRI Certified, Yoga Alliance Registered 200hrRYT Kundalini yoga teacher and Certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapist. She has completed several advanced Kundalini yoga trainings towards 500hr RYT certification, as well as, Art and Yoga Teacher Training with her revered teacher and mentor, Hari Kirin Kaur Khalsa. She is also a board Certified, Registered Art Therapist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the owner and founder of SOLSTICE Yoga, Healing & the Arts, a safe space for yoga, creative expression, healing and Art Therapy sessions., supporting the sacredness, and creativity of each individual through self-acceptance, awareness, and compassion.
Prema utilizes a heart centered, therapeutic and creative approach to teaching yoga, integrating her experience in Expressive Arts Therapies with the sacred, spiritual, deep healing practices of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. She holds a deep belief in the power of the practice to dissolve mental and emotional blocks that keep us stuck in negative patterns, so we can come into internal alignment with our own best self and cultivate resilience and strength so we can choose to have more love and peace in our lives! In addition to teaching yoga, Prema is a mother, an artist, an art therapist in Private practice, a group psychotherapist at McLean Hospital in Belmont Massachusetts, and an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences at Lesley University in Cambridge. She received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 3D Fine Arts, MA in Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy from Lesley University, along with a multitude of related clinical trainings. She was the Group Program Coordinator of the Dissociative Disorders and Trauma Program at McLean Hospital in Belmont Massachusetts from 2003 until August 2015 when she relocated to the pioneer Valley to expand her personal, creative, clinical, teaching and spiritual practices. Deborah Prema Ford ATR-BC, LMHC, RYT currently maintains a private practice in Easthampton at Solstice Yoga, Healing & the Arts, offering integrated expressive and somatic approaches to wellness and healing for adults and adolescents in Individual sessions, small groups and intensive workshop series. Her approach helps clients develop healing, self-awareness, creativity, flow and intuition through practices encompassing “body, mind, and spirit”. Part of her commitment to expand the powerful and profound practice of Kundalini yoga and art therapy is to offer more opportunities for clients to continue on their paths of healing to bring more joy and creativity into their lives!
